Warming up to NZ Men’s Health Week 2010

If you are working on a project for NZ Men’s Health in 2010 then please post info about it here. It’s great to know what’s going on for this important issue and we hope we are useful in building support for your efforts.

  1. Hello, could you tell me of any organisations that partake in mens health week. I would like to organise something at the community centre in Orakei. I’d like to know what kinds of things happen etc.

    Hi, I am the Physical Education Officer for Counties Manukau Police. We do regular Health checks for our staff, and try to jump on board with as many Health Initiatives as we can. Could you advise me where I could find more information regarding Men’s Health Week, and if and how we could get hold of some resourses and info/handouts etc.

  6. Hi, I work for Age Concern on the North Shore of Auckland. I’m partnering with Harbour Health PHO to provide free basic health checks (Warrant of Fitness) for men on Wednesday 16 June, 2.00 – 5.00pm at Birkenhead RSA. All free and no appointment necessary. A range of other health organizations will also be present to provide additional information. Men of all ages welcome. Thanks.

The Hamilton Community Men’s Shed is inviting local men to visit the Shed on Saturday June 19th from 10 am to see what we are doing to promote men’s skill development and socialisation via personal and community projects. Presently we are looking for trade qualified volunteers also to offer their services so that we can expand the hours we can be open and available. This wil increase our effectiveness to assist men gain confidence and opportunities to address personal health issues.
    Any health providers (like Katie Rom above) who would like to partner with us to do a kind of free basic health checks (Warrant of Fitness) on Wednesday June 16th from 10am would be welcomed.
